Recently, the Department of Education of Guangdong Province issued a circular commending institutions that have achieved notable progress in promoting large-scale IPv6 deployment in universities in 2025. Our university, owing to its solid achievements, was honored as an "Outstanding Institution for IPv6 Deployment in 2025." This recognition serves as a strong affirmation of our university's efforts in campus IT infrastructure development and the digital transformation of education.
Since advancing the large-scale deployment of IPv6, our university has adhered to the principles of "unified planning, phased implementation, dual-stack compatibility, and security and controllability." We have completed the dual-stack IPv6 upgrade of core campus network equipment and business systems, achieved end-to-end IPv6 connectivity across the network, data center, and export links, and realized full IPv6 access coverage for core applications. Concurrently, we have established a comprehensive IPv6 network security protection system, simultaneously enhancing network service quality and security. Our IPv6 user penetration rate and traffic share have both reached the advanced level at the provincial level.
Looking ahead, our university will take this commendation as an opportunity to further deepen innovative IPv6 applications, promote the deep integration of "IPv6+" with smart campus development, empower educational and teaching reform as well as talent cultivation, and contribute to the high-quality development of digital education in China.
